This week, I called for the complete and permanent suspension of Iran's nuclear program, discussed the wins for Texas-11 in the One Big Beautiful Bill, commended the action of Secretary Rollins to eradicate new world screwworm (NWS), and joined the KWEL Morning Show with Craig Anderson. My D.C. office also had special guests in town and met with students from the Texas Electric Cooperative Youth Tour. I've included some photos and highlights from the week below. You'll also find information on how my office can assist you with any federal issues you may be facing. As always, please don't hesitate to contact my office if we can ever be of assistance. Best, Calling for a Complete and Clear Suspension of Iran's Nuclear Program Last month, I led 177 of my colleagues in the U.S. House of Representatives in expressing unwavering support for President Trump's clear-eyed approach to Iran and calling for the complete and permanent suspension of Iran's nuclear program. U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts led the letter in the U.S. Senate, garnering additional support from 52 Republican Senators. Four years of the Biden administration and eight years of the Obama administration allowed Iran's nuclear program to grow unchecked. Complete denuclearization is the only acceptable path forward—to include the permanent dismantlement of the Fordow uranium enrichment facility. President Trump deserves unwavering support as he revives the maximum pressure campaign against Iran's leaders—the world's most dangerous state sponsors of terrorism. The Iranian regime is not just a threat; its leaders are a genocidal death cult. Make no mistake about their strategy—they view Israel's destruction as the beginning of their evil plans. We must continue standing firmly with our ally, Israel, during this time. Read more about the letter in Fox News here or by clicking the image below. The One Big Beautiful Bill is Good for Texas-11 The U.S. House passed one of the most consequential and historic pieces of legislation. The One Big Beautiful Bill unleashes American energy, extends the 2017 Trump Tax cuts for hardworking families, provides relief for seniors, eliminates taxes on tips and overtime, and much more. Congress must continue on an aggressive timeline to get the One Big Beautiful Bill to President Trump's desk to be signed into law. The American people want results—promises made, promises kept. We know it's not perfect, but it's an incredible bill that united Republicans and delivers results for American families. We need to take this step towards securing real wins for the American people. The U.S. Senate must pass this legislation. Watch and listen to my thoughts on ABC Big News 2 about the One Big Beautiful Bill and its impact on Texas-11 here or by clicking on the image below. Eradicating New World Screwworm in Texas This week, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins announced a plan to open a $8.5 million sterile New World screwworm (NWS) fly dispersal facility at Moore Air Base in Edinburg, Texas, to help combat the NWS threat. I have joined my colleagues several times this year, urging action on this issue, and I am thrilled to see Secretary Rollins doing just that. In addition to the fly dispersal facility, Secretary Rollins also noted that they are looking at establishing a production facility at Moore Air Base over the next 3-4 years. The New World Screwworm had devastating impacts on livestock and ranchers, and we must do everything necessary to ensure it does not re-enter the United States. I've joined several of my colleagues in calling for urgent action to eradicate NWS and opening a facility to combat it, just like the one in Edinburg, Texas. I applaud Secretary Rollins' leadership on this issue and the immediate action she has taken. Read more about the NWS fly dispersal facility here.
