Friend,
Today is World Refugee Day. Today we honor the strength and resilience of families and communities who’ve lost everything – homes, businesses, even loved ones – and are still finding ways to persevere. People like:
-
Yaryna, a young student who fled Ukraine and then became a lifeline for other refugees coping with trauma.
-
Moisés, born with cerebral palsy in Venezuela, who received critical care in Colombia after fleeing his home country with his family.
-
Abdul, who after escaping the conflict in Syria and finding refuge in Türkiye, endured another crisis when devastating earthquakes hit the region, and is now rebuilding his life once again.
These three are just a few of the 130 million-plus people worldwide who are displaced as you read this. Americares was able to support Yaryna, Moisés and Abdul thanks to your generosity, but we need your support to do more. And we’re running out of time.
We set a critical $25,000 goal for World Refugee Day, and we’re still falling short. The deadline is at midnight tonight, so will you rush a gift of $125 or more to help us reach our goal? |
