Join us on Thursday, June 26th, at 11:00 AM EST for a for a timely and urgent conversation on the rapidly expanding role of local and state police in the enforcement of federal immigration law and policy.
New policies and political pressures resulting from the Trump administration’s mass deportation agenda have expanded the reach of immigration enforcement beyond federal authorities. Police departments across the country–from Tennessee to Florida, Texas to Nebraska—are being tasked with supporting and directly engaging in immigration raids, arrests, and other federal enforcement actions in their communities.
We will offer expertise on the policies and laws behind this expansion of cooperation with state and local law enforcement agencies and explore what’s at stake for immigrants, local officials, and community trust by talking directly to a state elected official, a sheriff, and an immigrant rights leader.
