Friends and neighbors, 

We’re received some questions from folks over the past few days regarding Monday’s community conversation [ [link removed] ]. After careful thought, we have decided to continue as planned. Please note that RSVP is required. You can RSVP here [ [link removed] ].

Minnesotans from both sides of the aisle and from across the entire state are grieving the senseless loss of Melissa and Mark Hortman. We will continue to grieve for Melissa and Mark and hold their family close. They were so deeply loved, and I know I'm not the only one determined to remember them properly and make sure future generations of Minnesotans will too. We’re also continuing to pray for John, Yvette, and Hope Hoffman as they heal both physically and emotionally from this tragedy that nearly also claimed their lives. We can show them love by demonstrating the same tenacity that they are known for. 

Right now, being in community is incredibly important. As I have said many times since Saturday morning, grief is a process, and we are all still in the early stages of it. There will be dark and hard times ahead. We will learn difficult and scary truths. We will never be what we were before, and we shouldn't expect to be.  

I continue to have hope that "there is a balm in Gilead to make the wounded whole." I don't know what it looks like yet, but with the overwhelming love that I've seen this past week, I have never been more confident that we'll find it within each other. 

I hope to see you Monday.
