Under President Trump's direction, ICE is carrying out cruel and chaotic actions across the country. Recently, Trump's Justice Department filed flimsy charges against my colleague, Rep. LaMonica McIver of New Jersey, after she visited an ICE facility in her district to conduct congressional oversight duties.

ICE is out of control. Just a few days ago, they arrested NYC Comptroller and Mayoral candidate Brad Lander, and last week, the Department of Homeland Security forcibly removed California Senator Alex Padilla from an event in handcuffs.

These charges and arrests are purely political – an affront to everyone who respects the rule of law.
