Every day, too many families in Delaware and across the country wake up to
an empty seat at the table. This Gun Violence Awareness Month, I’m
thinking of the lives stolen, the futures lost, and the far-too-familiar
heartbreak so many families know.
But I’m also thinking of what’s possible when we act.
In the Delaware State Senate, I helped pass one of the most significant
gun safety packages in our state’s history, banning assault weapons and
strengthening background checks. Taking on the NRA wasn’t easy, but it was
worth it.
Now Congress needs to act to do the same thing on a national scale — and
I’m counting on your support to get it done.

Despite what the NRA wants you to believe, the truth is that the
overwhelming majority of Americans, including gun owners, support
common-sense reforms. But a handful of extremists in Congress are standing
in the way.
They want us to believe this crisis is too big, too complicated, and too
entrenched to fix. But I don’t buy that — and I know you don’t either.

put people over gun lobby profits and take action to end this crisis.
In solidarity,
Sarah McBride
