Congressman Sessions listens to a question from a town hall attendee    Over 230 constituents attended the McLennan County town hall Congressman Sessions presents an update from Washington

I had the pleasure of spending this past week in Waco, where I kicked things off on Monday with a town hall in McLennan County. It was an honor to hear directly from so many of you about the issues that matter most.

Thank you to everyone who came prepared with thoughtful questions and feedback. I stayed until the very last question was answered because listening to you isn’t just important, it’s essential to doing my job as your Congressman.

If you weren’t able to join us, you can watch the full recording of the town hall here.

On June 19, 1865, two and half years after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, Union troops arrived in Galveston with a long-overdue message: enslaved people in Texas were finally free. That day is now known as Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. On Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the 5th annual “Juneteenth on the Brazos” at the Baylor Club. It was great to come together as a community to celebrate liberty and justice for all.
