Aloha Hawai'i Republican 'Ohana,

The reason why I chose to run for HRP State Chair was not only to help orchestrate and win Hawaii GOP gubernatorial, federal and lower house elections on November 3, 2026, but to disrupt and cancel bad bills that are being proffered by our Hawaii State Legislators. 

On March 5, 2024, Hawaii Democrat lawmakers considered a bill, HB 2079 (introduced by Representatives KAPELA, AMATO, GANADEN, MARTEN, PERRUSO, and TAM), that would loosen requirements for residents who feel they “need” medication to undergo a gender change without parental consent at the age of 14 years old.


This bill, HD 2079, was defeated in committee due to the pressure of constituents contacting their State Representatives and State Senators.

 


Supreme Court Upholds Tennessee Ban on Transgender Care for Minors

This week this same transgender bill was defeated by the U.S. Supreme Court in a 6-3 decision, for which we are all so very grateful. The Supreme Court on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, upheld a Tennessee law that prohibits some medical treatments for transgender youth, rejecting arguments that it violated the Constitution and shields similar laws in more than 20 other states.

Members of the HRP and its leadership, are responsible to “wrestle” against the legislative bodies that would create bad laws, that go beyond the pale, dissolving the right of the family to guard and protect their own families, from the very government that is supposed to protect them and their families. The purpose of the government is to protect the unalienable God given rights of the people to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” (The Declaration of Independence,Thomas Jefferson).

I’m reminded of what President Ronald Reagan once said. “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

Today, the people of the State of  Hawaii and the Hawaii Republican Party, celebrate the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court and “the life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness.”
 


🔄 100-Day Plan and Report

Some have asked about the 100-Day Plan and its purpose. This model is often used by new leaders in government and business to set clear priorities, build momentum, and establish early wins. It’s an operational roadmap—not something requiring formal approval—meant to guide the Chair’s transition and create transparency.

We’re already making strong progress toward building unity, strengthening our organization, and preparing for success in 2026. At the end of the 100 days, we’ll share a full report with the body and present a Strategic Plan for approval by the HRP State Committee—so we can move forward together, with focus and purpose. Let’s keep the momentum going!
