john,
We’re proud to share some exciting news from our labor family: the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) is expanding its power and presence in Arizona! Thanks to the commitment and leadership of union women across the state, the Greater Western Arizona CLUW chapter is officially in formation!
After three successful membership meetings and overwhelming support, the group signed their official chapter application on May 29, 2025—a major milestone in building a strong, intersectional movement for gender and economic justice in the labor movement.
This new chapter will serve union members across Maricopa, Pinal, Yavapai, Gila, Pima, Mohave, Santa Cruz, Cochise, Apache, Coconino, Navajo, and Yuma counties. We’re excited to see this new chapter bring together union women and allies to organize, empower, and lead.
Next Step: Electing Chapter Leadership
Now, the chapter is moving into a new phase: Nominations and Elections for their founding leadership team. This leadership will guide our efforts to empower women for greater participation at all levels in the labor movement, organize the unorganized, promote affirmative action, social and economic justice in the workplace, and increase the participation of women in political and legislative activities.
