Good morning Young Democrats,

Thank you for standing up, making your voice heard, and fighting for what is right! I am proud this CYD Convention was the largest in years with over 400 attendees, and I am deeply honored to have been re-elected by Young Democrats to serve as CYD’s President.

Every Democrat - and every American - must join us in this fight because our rights and our Constitution are on the line as Donald Trump and his MAGA extremist Republican enablers continue their fascist assault on our country. That is the message I shared with California Democrats when I spoke ([link removed]) at the CADEM Convention.

In this moment, it is absolutely critical that we have Young Democrats stepping up and into leadership positions to help fight back! So, in that spirit, I have two leadership opportunities to share with you:

1) CYD’s Regional Directors appoint Young Democrats from their region to serve on several statewide committees that influence the policy, political and legislative decisions made by CYD. If you are a member of a CYD chapter ([link removed]) and interested to learn more and be considered for an appointment, then visit CYD’s new website ([link removed]) .

2) Are you an elected or appointed Democratic State Central Committee (DSCC) member of the California Democratic Party (CDP)? If so, then you are eligible to serve on a CDP Standing Committee ([link removed]) . The CDP 2025-2027 Standing Committee Application ([link removed]) is now open and will close on Sunday, July 6, 2025. I also want to share with you CYD’s newly elected Executive Board and thank them each for standing up and taking on this fight with us! 2025 CYD Convention Recap

As mentioned, this year’s Convention had an amazing turnout of Young Democrats from all across California: the best since at least the pandemic. If you were not able to make it this time, I hope you will join next time!

Numerous powerful guest speakers, two important trainings, packed CA College Democrats (CCD) ([link removed]) and CA High School Democrats (CAHSD) ([link removed]) meetings, four caucus meetings, lots of completed business and lots of fun: this Convention helped organize Young [and older] Democrats and get us ready for the tough fights ahead. We were able to provide all attendees a CYD t-shirt to rock at upcoming events, and a CYD tote bag to use when you’re knocking doors (or going to the grocery store).
