Good afternoon friend,,

Today, we made history.

After amendments were voted on, and then three and a half hours of Third Reading
debate, MPs have voted 314 to 291 in favour of choice

the House of Lords.

This moment is thanks to you.

You’ve written to your MP. Shared your story. Stood in Parliament Square, come
rain or shine placards held high. You’ve kept this campaign going and today, MPs finally caught up with the country.

Today’s vote shows that MPs are listening. They’ve heard the voices of dying
people and their families. They understand that people are suffering as a result
of the status quo, and they’ve taken a stand to change it.

For decades, people at the end of life have had no choice. Many have suffered,
some have taken desperate action, and others have died far from home, alone. But
now, Parliament has taken the first real step toward changing that.

I would like to make tribute to Kim Leadbeater who has shown extraordinary
leadership throughout this process. We are deeply grateful for her commitment to
moving this conversation forward with dignity, respect and care.

The Bill will now move to the House of Lords. It’s no longer hypothetical - assisted dying reform is on its way.

There’s still a lot of work ahead. But for today, we hope you can take a moment
to feel proud of what we’ve achieved together. This is a turning point, and we
have reached it together.

Thank you for every email, every conversation, and every act of courage that
brought us to this moment. This campaign has always been powered by people - and
today we, the people, won.

Together we will change the law,

Best wishes,

Sarah Wootton

P.S. The Bill now moves to the Lords – and our work must continue. With 829
members of the House of Lords to reach, we need
to pull out all the stops to be ready to win the next big vote. Please donate today so we can do just that.
