John, Summer break is upon us, and your support is helping ensure families can access crucial programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) when they don’t have access to school meals.
But I noticed you haven’t had a chance to take advantage of the opportunity to have your gift MATCHED by the Brighter Futures Fund, up to $50,000, toward funding more meals for kids this summer. Will you please make a gift now to have it go TWICE AS FAR toward ensuring kids have the meals they need to thrive this summer and beyond?
Recently, I met with Margarita — a working mother in California with two kids with special needs. She told me she turned to SNAP when she had to leave her job to care for her husband who had been unexpectedly hospitalized. SNAP helped her pay for groceries, stay ahead on car payments and keep the lights on.
In Louisiana, I met Mia — a single mother of three who never imagined she would need government assistance. But when her youngest son was born with serious medical needs, Mia had to step away from work to care for her children. SNAP helped her buy fresh, healthy food and focus on her son’s health.
Darrisha is a single mother of four in North Carolina who is going to college and working part-time as a school nurse. Her youngest son was born deaf, blind and facing multiple serious health challenges. She told me that SNAP has been a temporary lifeline to help her put food on the table as she builds a better future for all of her family.
Before our match offer ends at midnight tomorrow, you can DOUBLE your impact to help us reach our $50,000 match goal and help more mothers like Margarita, Mia and Darrisha get the meals they need this summer.
Please, make a gift of $25 or more now that can personally help provide 500 meals for kids this summer.
With gratitude,
Diego Alonso
