John,
The Senate released its version of the Big Brutal Bill, which would effectively cancel thousands of solar, wind, and clean energy projects, resulting in higher energy costs nationwide.
The Senate bill ends tax credits for home energy upgrades, including rooftop solar upgrades, 180 days after the Big Ugly Bill is enacted.1 It also phases out Biden-era tax credits for wind and solar beginning in 2026, with the credits completely ending in 2028.2
We’re in the middle of a climate crisis. And, many families are already struggling with high energy costs.3 Passing policies that make clean energy programs more expensive, losing hundreds of thousands of good jobs, and increasing energy costs for millions of people is completely unacceptable.
Send a message to the Senate today, telling them to reject the budget bill.

Right now, there are thousands of clean energy projects across the United States—solar plants to power homes; wind farms, providing jobs to rural communities; battery factories, bringing manufacturing back to the Rust Belt.
If this bill passes, factories making things like solar panels, heat pumps, and parts for wind turbines could close, and America could lose over 1.6 million jobs through 2035.4
This attack on the clean energy economy would increase your energy bill by $400 a year, all while polluting our air and water.5
We still have time to kill this bill. Some Republican lawmakers have already gone on record saying they will vote against it, and others have deep concerns about what the attacks on clean energy will mean for their states, especially for planned projects that will employ thousands of people. They are hearing from families that will be hit by higher health costs, grocery costs, and energy costs because of the Big Brutal Budget—and we need to keep up the noise.
Will you send a message to your Senators today telling them to reject this attack on clean energy that will lose jobs and cost households more?
Thank you for all you do,
Deborah Weinstein
