Dear Friend,
Today is World Refugee Day. It’s a day to honor the courage and resilience of all who have had to flee their homes in search of safety. And it comes at a critical time for immigrant communities in the U.S. and refugees and displaced people around the world.
One way you can make a meaningful difference is to donate to AFSC’s Refugee Response Fund. Thanks to our matching gift challenge, your gift will go twice as far now through June 30. Please help turn $40,000 into $80,000 for humanitarian relief, advocacy, and more with a generous gift today!

Many people fleeing war, persecution, and other crises face dangerous travel conditions, including unreliable access to basic human needs like water, food, and shelter. And today, whether they are seeking asylum or have been part of our communities for decades, immigrants in the U.S. face a host of injustices.
These times require much of us as people, as friends, and as neighbors. But we have a moral responsibility to respond. As a Quaker organization, AFSC holds a deep belief in the power of transformative love and the sanctity of human rights and dignity. We also know through more than a century of experience that when communities come together with commitment and courage, we can make a difference, even in the most challenging of times.
Thanks to the generosity of people like you, AFSC has been able to provide humanitarian relief in Gaza. We are also providing tangible resources for immigrants in the U.S. – including direct service, legal support, and emergency response for those fearing detention or deportation in real time. Today I invite you to join in making a critical difference in our local and global communities. On this World Refugee Day, there is no better time to give.
In peace,
Amy Gottlieb
U.S. Migration Director
P.S. Please consider becoming a monthly donor to AFSC. Knowing we can count on your steady support helps us respond to emergencies. It also helps sustain the long-term work needed to bring systemic change.
