President Trump’s Iran Decision Is Coming Within Two Weeks
Will the U.S. attack Iran? According to the White House, Donald Trump will
decide “within the next two weeks.”
“Based on the fact that there's a substantial chance of negotiations that may
or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision
whether or not to go within the next two weeks,” the president said in a
statement on Thursday.
Karoline Leavitt publicized those words during her daily press briefing,
adding that "Iran has never been closer to obtaining a nuclear weapon," which
would “pose an existential threat not just to Israel, but to the United States
and to the entire world."
To those concerned that this could lead America into another Middle Eastern
forever war that fails to advance our country’s interests?
“Trust President Trump,” Leavitt said. Read more.

The U.S. Might Nuke Iran?
Earlier this week, The Guardian reported
<[link removed]>
that Donald Trump “is not considering using a tactical nuclear weapon” on Iran
and that Pete Hegseth did not present the possibility to the president during
Tuesday’s situation room meeting.
Yesterday, Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich said the White House told her
otherwise.
“I was just told by a top official here that none of that report is true,
that none of the options are off the table,” Heinrich stated during a TV
appearance. She added that “the U.S. military is very confident that bunker
busters could get the job done at Fordow,” a reference to Iran’s top nuclear
facility.Read more.

Netanyahu Says He Doesn’t Need America’s Help
Benjamin Netanyahu strongly implied that his country is capable of attacking
all of Iran’s nuclear facilities without American assistance on Thursday,
including the critical Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant.
“We will achieve all our objectives and hit all of their nuclear facilities.
We have the capability to do that,” the prime minister told a reporter when
asked about attacking Fordow without the U.S. military’s help. He added that
whether Donald Trump “wants to join or not” is “entirely his decision.”
If anyone ever accuses you of being an antisemite for opposing America
bombing Iran, cite that quote. Netanyahu isliterally saying he could take or
leave the United States’ support.Read more.

NIH Revives East Palestine Train Derailment Investigation
Perhaps the most frustrating thing about foreign policy dominating America’s
national conversation is that it distracts the news cycle, and therefore
Washington and the public, from what’s happening in our country.
Take East Palestine, Ohio, as an example. Constantly hyper-focused on
Ukraine, the Biden administration couldn’t have been bothered to give the
Midwestern town the attention it deserved after its 2023 train derailment
disaster. The catastrophe released untold amounts of toxic chemicals into the
region’s air, soil, and water supplies, displaced hundreds of residents, and
contributed to a yet-to-be-determined number of deaths. Despite those jarring
figures, the former president didn’t visit the area until over a year after the
incident.
The Trump administration took a step toward righting that wrong on Thursday,
announcing its plan to launch a five-year, $10 million research initiative to
assess and address the accident’s long-term health outcomes.

Democrat Voters Are Begging for New Party Leadership
“The leadership of the Democratic Party should be replaced with new people.”
62% of Democrat respondents in a newly released Reuters/Ipsos poll
<[link removed]>
said they agreed with that statement, sending as clear a message as any that
grassroots liberals are tired of the old guard. Only 24% felt the opposite.
How likely is the party’s brass to adhere to its base’s wishes? Not very. As
you may recall, the DNC recently purged Vice Chair David Hogg for having the
audacity to support primary challengers to ineffective incumbents. Few things
could serve as a stauncher reminder of the party’s commitment to upholding
corporate, lobbyist, and neocon rule. Time will tell if that intense devotion
to the status quo is a sound electoral strategy. We’d be surprised.Read more.

Court Backs Trump’s Los Angeles National Guard Deployment
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Thursday that Donald Trump can to
keep control of National Guard troops in Los Angeles, rebuking Gavin Newsom’s
argument that the deployment was illegal without his permission.
Even though the president failed to notify the governor before deploying the
National Guard as required by law, the court cited that Newsom had no power to
veto the president’s order.
"Affording the President that deference, we conclude that it is likely that
the President lawfully exercised his statutory authority under § 12406(3),
which authorizes federalization of the National Guard when the President is
unable with the regular forces to execute the laws of the United States," the

Trump reacted by celebrating the “BIG WIN” on Truth Social

Jasmine Crockett Calls Trump Supporters Mentally Ill
If you’re reading this newsletter, you probably voted for Donald Trump. We’re
sure people have called you some pretty vicious names for doing so.
Deplorable. Garbage. Anti-American. Nazi. You’ve doubtlessly heard it all.
Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, who continues to be one of Washington’s most
entertaining figures, introduced a new slander to that list on Thursday:
mentally ill.
“We’ve got a mental health crisis in this country because everyone, no matter
how you affiliate yourself, should be against Trump,” she said.
Got that? Casting your ballot in hopes of creating a government that would
secure the border, keep America out of endless wars, and oppose the mutilation
of children doesn’t make you a well-meaning citizen who wants a better future
for your family. It means you should check yourself into a ward.
That’s Crockett’s message. And to think she thinks Republicans secretly “
really like

Netanyahu Complains of War’s “Personal Cost”: Postponing His Son’s Wedding
Middle Easterners are suffering.
In the past eight days alone, the latest iteration of Israel’s conflict with
Iran has claimed hundreds of lives, reportedly includinga minimum of 263
Iranian civilians
<[link removed]>
andat least 24 Israelis
<[link removed]>
.
Those innocents are paying the highest personal cost possible, involuntarily
forfeiting their futures as their leaders fire rockets at one another with no
end in sight. Benjamin Netanyahu wants their grieving families to know that he
can relate to their struggle.
“Each of us bears a personal cost, and my family has not been exempt,” the
warring prime minister said on Thursday.
Okay, you may be thinking. What cost? Have any of the Netanyahus died in this
week’s fighting? Suffered injuries? Lost a home?
Not quite. They had to postpone a wedding.
“This is the second time that my son Avner has cancelled a wedding due to
missile threats. It is a personal cost for his fiancée as well, and I must say
that my dear wife is a hero, and she bears a personal cost,” Bibi continued.
He made the comment against the backdrop of a missile-struck hospital. Read

Gavin Newsom Wishes a Happy Birthday to His… Wife? Partner?
Gavin Newsom gave his wife Jennifer a legendarily cringeworthy social media
birthday shoutout on Thursday, labeling her the “First Partner of California”
rather than acting like a normal person and calling her “First Lady.”
<[link removed]>
<[link removed]>
The message’s clear insinuation is that the term “First Lady” is too sexist to
remain in use, warranting its immediate replacement with somethinggender neutral
. Given that sentiment, we’re surprised the governor described his wife as the
“outstanding mother” of their children rather than the “outstanding birthing
person.” But that is neither here nor there.
A deeper dive into this story reveals this is hardly the Newsoms’ first use
of “First Partner.”Gov.ca.gov <[link removed]>, the
National Governors Association
<[link removed]>, and Jennifer’s
Instagram <[link removed]> and X
<[link removed]> accounts all assign her the title. If she gets
her way, she’ll be “First Partner of the United States” in four years.

Commentary
What Happens Next?
It’s been over a week since Israel attacked Iran, and it seems likely that the
U.S. government will soon follow suit. A Pentagon source on Tuesday estimated
there’s an80% chance <[link removed]> of
America launching offensive strikes.
If that transpires, what would happen next? How would Iran respond? Can an
aerial assault alone eliminate the country’s nuclear program? And how would the
rest of the Middle East react? Would the Ayatollah’s allies get involved? Could
this become another endless war?
Each of those questions deserves deep thought before our country’s leaders
make an irreversible mistake. Based on some of the rhetoric coming out of
Congress, the Washington neocon caucus hopes the answer to the last one is yes.
Now that the assault on Iran is underway, the people cheering for it the
loudest are pivoting away from the nuclear weapons talking point and revealing
their true goal in this new Middle Eastern endeavor:regime change. Lindsey
Graham
<[link removed]>
,Ted Cruz
<[link removed]>
,Randy Fine
<[link removed]>
, and untold numbers of their warmonger friends all agree that eliminating
Iran’s enrichment facilities isn’t enough.America has to take over the country.
That admission changes the gravity of this debate. If an American attack does
happen, the president seems to picture it being swift and brief, an assault on
the nuclear centers followed by a victorious exit. But the Graham-Cruz-Fine
cabal seeks something different. They envision a forever war, with American
boots on the ground for as long as it takes to “liberate Iran,” a buzzphrase
that conveniently lacks a tangible definition. It means whatever the neocons say
it means, allowing them to drag out a conflict for as long as they want.
How would this unfold? A look at the past offers haunting clues. Whether in
Libya, Syria, Iraq, or Afghanistan, the United States has a remarkably
unsuccessful history of instigating Middle Eastern regime change. The failure
rate could not be higher, and there’s no credible reason to believe this effort
would buck that trend. Whether they care to admit it or not,America’s leaders
know nothing about Iran <[link removed]>
. Their belief that they could waltz into the distant foreign land and oversee
a smooth transition from dictatorship to “democracy” exemplifies the exact
naivety they accuse us of having for holding the opposite view. The difference
is that history supports our side.
Keep an eye out for today’s episode of The Tucker Carlson Show. It explores
real possibilities of where an American invasion could lead, making the
downsides far clearer than the establishment wants you to realize. No matter
what they say, victory is not guaranteed.
Have a safe weekend.

<[link removed]>
This Day in History
June 20, 1854: A near-shooting in Congress. Representative William Cullom
lunged at fellow lawmaker William Churchwell after the latter accused the
former of vilifying him in an ongoing debate over the pending Kansas-Nebraska
bill, which sought to let settlers vote on whether they would allow slavery in
the two new territories. Churchwell then reached for his gun, only to be
stopped by Congressman Francis Craige when his hand went for the pistol. Both
fighters eventually apologized to the House and faced no punishment. Read more.
