Rep. Tony Gonzales, Republican Hispanic Conference Members: Prioritize Violent Offenders and Convicted Criminal Aliens - Congressman Tony Gonzales led 5 of his Republican colleagues in urging the Trump Administration to prioritize immigration enforcement operations for violent offenders, convicted criminal aliens, and national security threats instead of using limited resources to pursue individuals who do not constitute an immediate threat to public safety. “Every minute that we spend pursuing an individual with a clean record is a minute less that we dedicate to apprehending terrorists or cartel operatives. We stand by President Trump to ensure our border security is restored. However, in order to truly claim success, we need to give absolute priority to every violent offender and convicted criminal illegal alien present in our nation," they wrote.

Coalition of Organizations Note the Benefits of In-State Tuition for All Texans for More Than Two Decades - In response to the lawsuit filed against the State of Texas by the U.S. Department of Justice regarding in-state tuition for undocumented students and the state’s subsequent decision to terminate the program, Texas immigration advocacy leaders issued a statement. “There have been many failed attempts to limit or repeal this law, including this session. This lawsuit and state action to then terminate this decades-old law have circumvented the Texas State Legislature, due process, and the desire of many Texans. We encourage our elected leaders to reconsider these actions and safeguard in-state tuition rates for all Texans," they said.
