Hi John,
The prime minister reaffirmed plans to ban new gas and diesel vehicles and this is your chance to join thousands of taxfighters to push back.
Here’s what happened.
Conservative MP Melissa Lantman introduced a motion to scrap Ottawa’s plan to ban new gas and diesel vehicles by 2035. Her colleagues in the Official Opposition joined her and voted to scrap the ban.
Government MPs all voted in favour of banning new gas and diesel vehicle sales by 2035. So the ban survived the vote.
Prime Minister Mark Carney is clearly planning to follow through with Justin Trudeau’s plan to ban new gas and diesel vehicles by 2035, even though the government hasn’t even said how much it will cost taxpayers to pay for the new power plants and transmission lines to charge those electric vehicles.
That’s not good, but you’ve been here before.
A few years ago, all federal party leaders were in favour of a carbon tax.
Thousands of taxfighters like you turned the politicians around and now you’re not paying the consumer carbon tax when you fill up your car or pay your heating bill.
This is YOUR chance to join thousands of taxfighters across Canada to stop the ban on new gas and diesel vehicles.
When YOU sign the petition, you’re taking a stand and you'll be the first to know when votes like this happen and there are big opportunities for you to make a difference.
Will you sign the PETITION to stop the ban on new gas and diesel vehicles?
**
We, the undersigned, call on the prime minister not to ban gas and diesel vehicles.

If you’ve already signed the petition, will you forward this petition to one more taxfighter because you need everyone doing their part to win this fight?
I grew up in a rural area, and I can tell you firsthand that having a gas-powered car makes all the difference when you need to travel long distances. It’s time politicians understood just how critical this issue is for so many Canadians.
All the best,
