Things are tough right now, John. I get it.

With Trump 2.0 at its ugliest, there’s a lot of fear and angst out there about what’s currently happening in Washington, D.C. — and right in our own backyard in L.A. Understandably so.

Whether it’s the GOP’s plan to pass the largest cut to Medicaid in U.S. history so they can deliver a massive tax break to billionaires or Trump deploying the National Guard to silence protestors, Republicans are proving that they don’t care one bit about folks like you.

But there’s a lot to be proud of, too.

I’m proud to represent the LGBTQ+ community as a candidate for Congress and a former steering committee member of the Stonewall Democrats. I’m proud that Los Angeles is standing up to the ICE raids and refusing to let Donald Trump silence our voices. And I’m proud that in just a short amount of time, our campaign to shake up the status quo in Washington, D.C. is off to such an incredible start.

So I want to know, John: What are you proud of right now? In yourself, in your community, in others? Please let me know by filling out our one-question survey today.

Even when things are tough, we should always find some time to celebrate the things we’re proud of. Thank you.
