Protect climate action from Big Polluters' stranglehold!
|
Dear Friend,
The Corporate Accountability climate team is currently in Bonn, Germany joining members of the global campaign to Kick Big Polluters Out (KBPO) at the latest round of the U.N. climate talks. Together, we’re organizing to advance climate justice by demanding an end to the ability of Big Polluters to write the rules of climate action, all in the name of profit over people and the planet.
Like us, Big Polluter lobbyists and representatives are at the U.N. climate talks, doing everything possible to continue delaying the climate action we urgently need. They’re evading accountability for their role in causing this crisis. And they’re championing false solutions that will keep us on the path of fossil fuels and irreversible climate change.
We can't let this happen. Here in Bonn, together we've been taking to the streets, to the microphone, and raising our collective voices. And now, we are close to securing another step towards kicking Big Polluters out. Now, we need you to join us in challenging these greedy corporations and the governments doing their bidding. And together we’ll demand that Big Polluters aren’t writing the rules -- again -- at these talks.
The KBPO coalition is demanding that world governments and the organizers of the U.N. climate talks take the next step towards protecting these talks from undue industry influence. While we previously secured a first step towards kicking them out together, it’s nowhere near enough.1 But we have the opportunity right now to change this -- and it’s where you come in.
Alongside our KBPO partners, we are demanding that those organizing the climate talks and world governments attending them take the next step to protect the climate talks from industry interference. And we’re doing that by turning up the heat and ensuring the U.N. climate leadership hears the voices of people around the world who are demanding the U.N. formalize strong measures to protect against Big Polluters!

Corporate Accountability stops transnational corporations from devastating democracy, trampling human rights, and destroying our planet. We are building a world rooted in justice where corporations answer to people, not the other way around -- a world where every person has access to clean water, healthy food, a safe place to live, and the opportunity to reach their full human potential.
