** John,
------------------------------------------------------------
As a sitting member of Congress, I have the right — and the responsibility — to conduct oversight on federal agencies.
Do you support the courage it takes for people to stand up to ICE’s illegal tactics? ([link removed])
Yesterday, I tried to gain access to the ICE Detention Facility in Broadview — but I was denied access.
Let that sink in: ICE is trying to keep out elected officials who have the legal right and responsibility to inspect their facilities.

This is not just a bureaucratic roadblock — it’s a continuation of a dangerous sign of how far ICE has strayed from accountability. And how little regard they have for transparency or due process.
We’re hearing report after report of people being detained without explanation by masked ICE agents who refuse to show warrants or identification. Legal rights are being trampled, families torn apart with no notice. Immigrants — many of whom have lived here for years and contributed to our communities — are being denied the most basic constitutional protections.
That should alarm every one of us.
SUPPORT TODAY ([link removed])
ICE can’t keep getting away with violating people’s rights, often right in the open on our city streets. I won’t be silent. I will continue to keep showing up to fight against their unconstitutional, un-American, and unlawful tactics. I hope you’ll stand with me. ([link removed])
In Solidarity,
Delia
