Email from Rep. Mann Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. Message from Rep. Tracey Mann. Having Trouble Viewing? Click Here. Fellow Kansan, Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. I am back in the Big First meeting with constituents from across the district. For more information on what I'm working on this week, be sure to follow me on social media. I do not serve in Congress to be a caretaker in the slow demise of America— I serve to fight and work to make it stronger. That’s what I am doing while believing our brightest days are yet to come. Yours in service, Click below to follow me on social media. Mann.House.Gov Questioning Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins During Secretary Rollins’ first appearance before the House Agriculture Committee, I thanked her for her leadership and questioned her on trade promotion and global food security. We discussed efforts to unlock new market opportunities for Kansas producers, including on her upcoming trade mission to India. I also highlighted my legislation to return the Food for Peace program to USDA, where it belongs. Global food security has a storied history with Kansas—what began as an idea at a county Farm Bureau meeting became the Food for Peace program, signed into law by President Eisenhower. I’m grateful for Secretary Rollins’ confidence in the department’s ability to run the program. Allowing our farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers to feed hungry people around the globe is both the morally right and fiscally responsible course of action. Joining President Trump to Roll Back Far-Left Auto Mandates I joined President Trump last week at the White House for the signing of three critical bills that reverse Biden-era EPA rules pushing electric vehicle mandates and restrictive emissions standards. These rules would have given California outsized influence over the nation’s auto industry and imposed burdensome mandates on manufacturers and consumers alike. I was proud to support these resolutions in the House to prioritize an all-of-the-above energy strategy that does not pick winners or losers. Saving Kansas Taxpayers $9.4 Billion Last week, I voted to pass H.R. 4, the Rescissions Act of 2025, to claw back $9.4 billion in wasteful federal spending and steward Kansans’ tax dollars responsibly. This bill codifies President Trump’s request to reduce bloated federal programs and eliminate funding for misguided efforts overseas, from electric buses in Rwanda to LGBTI+ programs in the Balkans. It’s time Washington stopped sending your hard-earned money abroad for Democrat pet projects and started putting American taxpayers first. Honoring Sarah and Yaron's Lives I attended a vigil last Tuesday honoring the lives of Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky, two Israeli Embassy staffers who were killed in the antisemitic terrorist attack in our nation’s capital. Sarah was a Kansan and a proud graduate of the University of Kansas. Her life was marked by service, purpose, and strength. As we mourn their loss, we must remain clear: there is no place for antisemitism in the United States. I will always stand with our Jewish allies and advocate for their rights to defend themselves against Hamas-led terror. Improving the Safety of our Nation's Capital I voted to advance two important bills to restore law and order in our nation’s capital. The first, H.R. 884, ensures that only American citizens can vote in Washington, D.C. elections, because voting is a sacred privilege of citizenship, and it must be protected. The second, H.R. 2056, ends D.C.’s sanctuary city policies by requiring the D.C. government to comply with federal immigration enforcement. After years of open border chaos, the American people are demanding accountability, and it starts right here in Washington. Celebrating Alyssa's Winning Artwork I welcomed our 2025 Congressional Art Competition winner, Alyssa Rager, to Washington, D.C. She had the chance to see her painting, “The Old Home Place,” proudly displayed in the halls of the U.S. Capitol building during her tour. Thank you to everyone who participated in our annual art competition. We are lucky to have such artistic talent across the Big First. Welcoming our Summer Interns My first experience in Washington was as an intern for a Kansas Congressman, so I understand just how impactful a great internship can be. This summer, Team Mann is proud to welcome five exceptional interns to our Washington, D.C. office: Elizabeth, Nicholas, Sage, Walker, and Cadence. They bring great energy, talent, and a strong work ethic to the office, and we’re glad to have them on board as they learn more about public service and representing the Big First District. Mann in the News Ad Astra Radio: Rep. Mann Speaks on One Big Beautiful Bill Agriculture of America: Rep. Mann on farm wins in One Big Beautiful Bill Voice of Reason: Congressman Tracey Mann: Congressional Battles and US Army Parade Serving The Big First As the summer season begins, many Kansas families are making travel plans, preparing for time with loved ones, or seeking assistance with federal services. My offices in Washington, D.C., and Kansas are here to help. Constituent Services Meetings in D.C. National Propane Gas Association As a member of the Congressional Propane Caucus, I understand how critical propane is to rural communities. I met with Kansans from the National Propane Gas Association to discuss the importance of reliable, affordable energy sources for families and businesses in Kansas. I am grateful for NPGA’s continued work to keep energy accessible. Garmin Kansas is a national leader in aviation and aerospace manufacturing, and we need federal policies that support innovation in the industry instead of stifling it. I met with Garmin, a Kansas-based global leader in GPS, aviation, and navigation technology, to talk about trade issues that impact their operations. We discussed how Congress and the President can improve U.S. trade frameworks so they don’t penalize companies that invest in domestic research and development, and how to strengthen the U.S.-Mexico-Canada agreement to ensure a level playing field for American manufacturers. Thanks for the meeting! AFP Kansas Lower taxes, less government spending, and more freedom are what Americans voted for in 2024, and it’s what House Republicans are delivering through our One Big Beautiful Bill. I appreciated the chance to visit with Kansans from Americans for Prosperity to talk about the importance of making the Trump tax cuts permanent, lowering everyday prices for Kansans, and cutting bureaucratic red tape. Thanks for meeting with me, AFP! U.S. Global Leadership Coalition When hungry people around the world see bags of food marked “USA,” it sends a powerful message about who we are as a nation. I had a great conversation with Kansas leaders from the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition about the importance of ensuring America’s international development and food assistance programs support American agricultural producers, reflect our values, and serve our strategic interests. Kansas farmers help feed the world, and I am proud of their contributions to ensure our global engagement is effective, efficient, and rooted in American leadership. Empirical Foods Empirical Foods recently built a cutting-edge meat processing facility in Garden City that will create over 200 jobs and produce 80 million pounds of ground beef annually. I appreciated meeting with their team and learning more about their innovative technologies, regulatory concerns, and commitment to strengthening the beef supply chain. As the representative of the top cattle-producing district in the country, I will continue to advocate for sound policies that keep Kansas beef competitive and our rural economies strong. Kansas Farm Bureau I met with leaders from the Kansas Farm Bureau to talk about the latest news regarding agriculture policy in Washington, DC. We discussed the One Big Beautiful Bill and how it strengthens the farm safety net by expanding crop insurance, updating reference prices, and increasing support for trade promotion. We also talked about key tax provisions in the bill, including permanent enhanced death tax relief to help family farms stay in the family. I'm grateful for the continued partnership with Kansas Farm Bureau as we work to deliver sound ag policy for farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers across the Big First. Kansas Building Industry Association The homebuilding industry plays a key role in growing rural communities and ensuring Americans have adequate housing. I met with members of the Kansas Building Industry Association to discuss housing availability, workforce development, and pro-growth tax provisions that will help their industry thrive. We talked about the Energy Choice Act, legislation I cosponsor that protects access to affordable energy sources and ends burdensome regulations in the energy space. We also spoke about the One Big Beautiful Bill, which permanently extends key provisions from President Trump’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act to support small businesses. Thanks for meeting with me! Flora Food Group Kansas is home to a strong and growing food manufacturing sector. I enjoyed meeting with Flora Food Group to discuss their new $90 million investment in Hugoton, which is expected to create 100 new jobs and expand production of cream and cream cheese products across the Americas. Their continued commitment to rural America is especially appreciated as we recognize National Dairy Month. Thanks for the meeting!     Visiting Washington, D.C.?
