The earthquake that was the 2022 Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade rippled through virtually every aspect of our political and cultural landscape. Those on the left who had been sounding the alarm that Roe was on the chopping block — and who were blown off as fabulists — were proven right. It might feel like it happened a million years ago, but it was only three years ago (almost to the day).
Of course, the decision led to big defeats for Republicans in the ‘22 midterms. But by 2024, it felt like America suffered from a kind of collective amnesia. Or, maybe, we thought the worst was behind us.
It wasn’t. They’re still coming for us.
David Pepper joined Lisa Senecal to talk about the latest Republican bill running through Ohio at the moment. As David wrote HERE the bill will “ban all abortions, IVF, miscarriage care, and other aspects of reproductive freedom …”
The bill is problematic enough by itself, but an even bigger threat is the fact that it will be used as a model for other states and, potentially, federal action.
MAGA isn’t satisfied with Dobbs. They aren’t satisfied with anything. Abortion is just the first line of an attack that is coming for gay marriage, voting rights, trans rights — really, what freedom do you enjoy?
They’re coming for it.
