We have seen a wave of reaction to the death of George Floyd, against inequality and discrimination. How can we support our young people?
Hi John,
Recent events have ignited conversations across Ireland and around the world about racism and inequality. We are reaching out to offer you our support as you help the young people you work with get to grips with these difficult topics.

What can you do to help?
You may be asking yourself many questions right now:
* How can I support the young people of colour I work with?
* How can I work with young people who want to be allies against racism and inequality?
* How can I deepen my own understanding of racism?
* How do I make sure to acknowledge anti-Traveller racism?
We're here to support you
First things first: don't be afraid to go on this journey. Trust in your core skills as a youth worker.
Here are some things you can do:
1. You can read Make Minority a Priority ([link removed]) - our research on the experiences of minority ethnic people growing up in Ireland
2. You can explore Transforming Hate and Beyond Hate ([link removed]) - resources on tackling racism through transformative practice
3. You can watch our videos ([link removed])
one on working with minority ethnic young people and another on working with young Travellers
4. You can learn about young people's experiences of racism (http:// www.ihrec.ie/reports-international-bodies/un-convention-on-the-elimination-of-all-forms-of-racial-discrimination/) - see this video is from last year's IHREC consultation
5. You can report racism ([link removed]) when you see it on I-report.
6. Above all, you can keep learning ([link removed])
Join us at NYCI in fighting for policy change. Call on your elected representatives to make the reintroduction of the National Action Plan Against Racism a priority.
