Last night, I left the country for a four day trip to France and Romania.

In Romania, there's a new president who won an unexpected victory over a pro-Trump right-wing candidate. I'm going to meet with him to talk about the U.S. - Romanian partnership and how we can help Ukraine.

But first I’m headed to Paris - where I'll meet with French officials to talk about the Middle East and to see the Paris Air show where Connecticut has a lot of key industrial suppliers presenting.

But the part I am very excited about is a big speech I'm giving about the future of AI.

A few months ago Vice President Vance gave a speech in Paris on AI where he said the Trump administration was essentially going to allow the industry to do whatever it wanted to maximize profits - even if the outcome meant destruction of jobs.

I will present a very different vision -- that the U.S. and Europe must act together to protect job loss and spiritual loss that can happen as AI becomes able to reason and solve problems.

I actually wrote a long-form piece about it on Substack that got some attention. You can read it here if you're so inclined.

Back home, the work continues. Republicans are still trying to pass a massively unpopular bill that would give tax cuts to the richest Americans while throwing about 16 million working families off their health care.

My American Mobilization PAC is supporting citizens and organizations who are mobilizing all over the country against Trump’s corruption. Not just talk, but with actual resources.

We’ve already made initial investments to support students and young people in Georgia and Pennsylvania who are fighting against Trump’s assault on democracy. We’re organizing doctors and nurses in Michigan and Louisiana and Utah to stop Trump’s cuts to Medicaid.
