Today is Juneteenth, serving not only as a celebration of Black freedom and resilience, but also a reminder of all the structural inequalities, racism, and discrimination still present in our country today.
It’s important for us to acknowledge Oregon’s longstanding history of racism, particularly against Black communities, as we go about today. This work to dismantle racial injustice is ongoing, and one that OLCV is committed to fighting everyday.
