The ruling is a green light for more states to strip away parental rights and legislate identity out of existence, all while pretending it’s in the name of protecting children. Just not all children, obviously.

Trump spent $134 million on a marine-and-pony show to push the boundaries of executive power, a desperate projection of strength from a man beset by weakness.

Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei "can no longer be allowed to exist," Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Thursday after an Iranian missile hit a hospital in a town near Tel Aviv, injuring dozens. "The cowardly Iranian dictator sits in the depths of a fortified bunker and fires missiles at hospitals and residential buildings in Israel. These are war crimes of the most serious kind and — and Khamenei will be held accountable for his crimes," Mr. Katz said in a post on Twitter, indicating Israel Defence Forces (IDF) will do everything they can to eliminate the Iranian leader. On a related note, since the beginning of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have launched dozens of deadly attacks on hospitals and medical facilities in Gaza, killing at least 374 medical personnel and destroying 120 ambulances. According to Wikipedia, "no hospital in Gaza is fully functioning, only 17 of 36 hospitals are partially functioning, and the remaining 19 are out of service." Perspective is everything.

Rising healthcare costs and new legislation affecting Social Security benefits have pushed the go-broke date — or the date at which the programs will no longer have enough funds to pay full benefits — up to 2033 for Medicare’s hospital insurance trust fund and 2034 for Social Security's trust funds. Barring legislative changes, Social Security would only be able to pay 81% of benefits after that point. Both programs have faced dire financial projections for decades, but making changes to either has long been politically unpopular, and lawmakers have repeatedly kicked Social Security and Medicare’s troubling math to the next generation. At least we have a stable, ethically responsible leader with a strong command of numbers to see us through this imminent fiscal crisis. Shit, wait.

Folks, we've seen this movie before! It doesn't end well!
