Friend,
We’re excited to announce early bird registration for our 5th Annual Elizabeth Frankel Waymakers Mileage Challenge!
The Elizabeth Frankel Waymakers Mileage Challege is named after Elizabeth Frankel. A tireless advocate, waymaker, and friend, Elizabeth joined the Young Center in late 2009 as the third full-time employee of the Young Center. In 2021, we lost Liz to cancer, but her spirit as a Waymaker lives in each of us. It’s through the Elizabeth Frankel Waymakers Mileage Challege that we celebrate how each of us has the capacity to be a Waymaker and walk with an immigrant child and their family.
This year, in commemoration of the Young Center’s 20 th anniversary, we're honoring their journey, by taking our own steps. Join us as we walk, run, or roll 20,000 miles throughout the month of September in solidarity with the children who journey to the United States in search of safety, dignity, and community.
Sign up by Friday August 15 th to lock in early bird pricin g! Every child we serve has a story to tell. Every step you take will help us raise money to help us uplift their story and ensure that no child ever walks alone again.
Now more than ever, we need Waymakers who will go the distance to champion the rights and best interests of immigrant children and youth, making sure that wherever they land their voices are heard, they are safe, free from detention and with family in community.
