Dear John,

In Alabama, a grassroots collective led by Black trans activists provides legal support to trans people facing emerging threats. They are establishing a land trust to create a safe space for LGBTQIA people.

In New York, an Urgent Action Fund grantee partner runs their own clinic to provide virtual sexual and reproductive health care for and by Black women.

In Milwaukee, an informal community organization facilitates cash assistance to and creates spaces for rest, healing, and joy for Black women, trans, and non-binary people.

These three Urgent Action Fund grantee partners have built and are sustaining innovative local interventions to systemic failures most impacting Black women, trans, and non-binary folks. They represent hundreds of organizations who carry forward the legacy of Black liberation movements and the leadership of Black feminists. On Juneteenth, their work illuminates the profound history we must honor and build upon. Their work reminds us that now is not the time to retreat. This is precisely the time to defend racial equity, to envision a different world where every member of our communities has the opportunity to shine their brilliant light freely.

At Urgent Action Fund, our strong networks allow us to resource frontline, community based organizations and activists who lead with creativity, joy, and resistance in the struggle for racial equity. Join us ([link removed]) in supporting the transformative work of Black organizers, activists, and healers. Together, we can build the world we envision.

In Solidarity,
Urgent Action Fund for Feminist Activism
