Dear SPUC supporter,
After months of campaigning, the final chance for MPs to vote on Kim Leadbeater’s assisted suicide bill is expected tomorrow.
This is the crucial vote. If it goes to the House of Lords, Peers can amend it, but MPs will only vote again on their amendments, not on the Bill as a whole.
This has been a long, hard campaign (and an even harder week!) but please do what final actions you can to defeat this Bill NOW. It is on a knife edge, and every vote counts.
Write to your MP
Email your MP asking him/her to attend the debate tomorrow and vote against the Bill. This is especially important if your MP opposed the Bill in November – we need to make sure every single MP on our side is in Parliament tomorrow and votes against. With numbers so close, turnout will be crucial.
You can use our MP tool, which tells you which way your MP voted, and provides an editable template.
