Bye Bye artificially-dyed Trix and Kool-Aid!
Yesterday was a big day...
First thing in the morning, Kraft-Heinz announces that they're removing all artificial food dyes from all of their products in the next 2 years. Also, they're not replacing all dyes with natural alternatives, but will completely remove added colors from products that don't need them. The fewer unnecessary substances added to our food, the better!
And then General Mills follows and announces the same! They will remove all dyes from their entire product portfolio by the end of 2027.
These are TWO huge wins for the Food Babe Army and every American who has been demanding this now for over a decade.
This would have never happened if the FDA hadn't set a timeline for food corporations to phase these dyes out, and now the dominoes are falling! I'm thankful for their leadership in pushing the industry to remove dyes and telling Americans the truth about these harmful chemicals in our food.
As I watch the food industry acquiesce and drop dyes, can't help but think of Kellogg's for being complete idiots who keep poisoning American children. Kellogg's could have been the first... but now they are the last. What losers.
The writing is on the wall now after the recent legislation signed in West Virginia that is banning artificial dyes from all food sold in the state, and several other states have pending bills to get artificial dyes and other additives out of our food. They really have no other choice than to drop the dyes.
Here are the major products that will be reformulated without artificial dyes... so keep an eye on these ingredient labels for the changes:
Many of these products you may have never guessed contained dyes...like Jet-Puffed Marshmallows, French Salad dressing, and Jell-O Vanilla Pudding!?!

Kraft saw what happened when they dropped the dyes from their Mac n’ Cheese after the Food Babe Army’s successful petition. Removing the dyes was the best business decision ever and most consumers didn’t even notice the change.
I’m on the edge of my seat, watching to see when Kellogg’s, Mars, and every other major American food corporation finally announces they are done with dyes.
Looking forward to more American food companies to stop poisoning us with ingredients they don't use in other countries. This has been a long time coming!
