It is time for America to return to respect, civility, and the command to love our neighbor.
Over the past few weeks, our nation has been shaken by a wave of political violence. What began as demonstrations in some cities has escalated into riots, destruction, and even targeted attacks. Most heartbreaking of all, a politically motivated shooting in Minnesota has left two children orphaned. These were not random acts of chaos. These were deliberate and devastating choices that destroyed lives and communities. At Pacific Justice Institute, we condemn every act of political violence and stand with the innocent families who are suffering because of it.
The foundation of a free society is peaceful disagreement. When violence takes the place of reason and anger overtakes compassion, we lose something essential to our democracy. As Christians, we are called to a higher standard. Jesus taught, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39). This command does not depend on agreement. It is rooted in the truth that every person is made in the image of God. Even in the face of deep division, we are called to speak truth with grace and to pursue justice without hatred.
At Pacific Justice Institute, we will continue to defend the rights of individuals to speak their convictions without fear. We call on believers across the country to reject violence and reflect Christ in the way we engage the culture. This is a time to pray, to speak boldly, and to love fiercely. America needs people of faith to rise up with both courage and compassion. We remain steadfast in standing for truth even through rising political tensions.
