I’m writing to you today with big news.
After deep conversations with my family, my team, and with many of you, I’ve made a decision: I’m running for the United States Senate in Florida.
The fight just got bigger, and I’m all in to FLIP this seat into Democratic hands. We just made HISTORY in the 2025 Special Elections, shifting the district DOUBLE DIGITS toward Democrats, and I am confident we can replicate that success statewide.

This wasn’t a decision I made lightly. But after the campaign we just ran, after the movement we built, and after seeing firsthand just how many Floridians are desperate for real change, I know this is the next step we have to take.
In 2025 alone we made HISTORY in Florida by running the biggest, boldest campaign this part of the state has ever seen. Together, we:
- Made over THREE MILLION phone calls
- Knocked on over 600,000 DOORS
- And moved the needle toward Democrats a truly INCREDIBLE 18 PERCENTAGE POINTS!
If we can replicate the historic momentum and scale it statewide, then yes, we CAN flip Florida.
We can send a teacher and a working-class fighter to the United States Senate.
I know what the national political insiders are saying. They’ve written Florida off. They think the DeSantis era is permanent. They see the MAGA machine and they give up.
But they don’t know what we know.
They don’t know what we saw when we turned out volunteers in places Democrats hadn’t organized in years.
They don’t know what we heard when we knocked on doors in communities forgotten by both parties.
They don’t understand how hungry people are for a real alternative. A fighter who shows up and never backs down.
I’ve spent my life in the classroom and in the community, working to make Florida a better place for everyday people. In an age of MAGA extremism, there is a wide swath of voters in this state who are desperate for a voice that puts them first. I’m running to be that voice. I’m running to be that fighter.
But here’s the truth: The MAGA Establishment is going to do everything they can to stop us. They’re already sharpening their attacks. In my last campaign, they branded me “Jihad Josh” and pushed some of the most vicious, xenophobic lies I’ve ever seen. But we fought back. We didn’t flinch. And together, we made a historic leap forward for Democrats in that district. We nearly pulled off the unthinkable.
Now, with your help, we can finish the job.
