Yesterday, the Fifth Circuit Court upheld the Gun-Free School Zones Act in
United States v. Allam — a critical law that keeps guns away from schools
by prohibiting firearms within 1,000 feet of school grounds.

March For Our Lives led the amicus brief in this case, alongside other gun
violence prevention organizations. We made sure the voices of survivors
were front and center — with testimony from communities like Uvalde,
Oxford, Columbine, Santa Fe, and Newtown.

These stories made it clear: no student should have to carry the weight of
this kind of trauma. And no school should be a place of fear.

This ruling is a major legal win, but we know it’s not the end of the
