Last week, The Trump Administration and House Republicans used a rarely used process called rescissions to try to claw back U.S. foreign assistance funding that Congress has already provided. This reckless action jeopardizes both current and future humanitarian and development programs Now, vital programs are in jeopardy, like those that provide food aid, HIV prevention, clean water, basic education, and shelter for refugees fleeing violence. There is a short window to defeat this attempt to slash even more aid funding, and we need your help. Sign our petition urging the Senate to reject the rescission request and uphold America’s global leadership and foreign aid.
The rescission package would send more than $8 billion back to the treasury — funds meant to alleviate suffering and save lives. Support meant to help farmers grow healthy food, families gain access to clean water, and communities respond to disasters and build resilience. Your voice matters. Tell your Senators to reject the administration’s attempt to further slash life-saving aid funding. Thank you, The Mercy Corps team |
