Utah Senator Mike Lee wants to sell off 250 million acres of public lands in the West, 18.7 million of which are in Utah.
This is the latest in a long series of threats from Utah’s elected officials to sell off public lands, and like you, we are exhausted by this fight. Utahns deserve better than the constant threat of public lands being sold to the highest bidder by greedy politicians. As we look to the future of public lands access in Utah, one thing is for certain: we must work together.
In the spirit of coming together for our public lands, Stewardship Utah is excited to announce that we will be hosting a single-day event on October 3rd, 2025 at Westminster University. Land We Share: Utah Public Lands Summit will provide a forum to discuss how advocates, recreationists, conservationists, businesses, and more can come together to protect these treasured spaces in Utah.

Our public lands, our environment, our economy, and Utahns shouldn’t have to endure constant uncertainty over public lands battles. Help create sustainable solutions and join us on October 3rd alongside our keynote speaker, legendary rock climber and public lands advocate Tommy Caldwell, and together we will dare to dream bigger in protecting public lands.
What can you expect: |
- Panels and breakout rooms ranging from how to create advocates out of recreationists, the importance of running for local office as an advocate for public lands, winning strategies for land protections in other states, what access to public lands means for various stakeholders, and more!
-
Breakfast and Lunch are provided, and join us for happy hour after the conference to continue networking and brainstorming new strategies for public land protections.
- Take part in an interactive art piece, in partnership with Lizzie Wenger, to help decompress from the weight of the issues, and develop connections to each other and the places we work to protect.

We can’t wait to see you in October! |
