We have a big update:

[ [link removed] ]The Hill: Senate version of Trump agenda bill cuts more from Medicaid:
GOP aides

A group of Senate Republicans just unveiled their version of the federal
spending bill, and it’s somehow even WORSE than the House version.

Their proposed changes to the budget would raise the national debt ceiling
by $5 trillion instead of $4 trillion. To make up for that, they are
proposing even deeper cuts to Medicaid.

The good news is that our efforts to fight the nearly $1 trillion in cuts
to Medicaid, Medicare, and other health care programs are working.
Multiple Republican senators have already criticized these changes, citing
their constituents' concerns about rural hospital closures and other
impacts of slashing health care funding.

President Trump and the GOP are still trying to get this bill signed into
law by July 4th, so it’s important we keep the pressure on Congress to
“Fund Care, Not Billionaires.” You live in a state with a Republican
senator, so your voice is
crucial.

Use our hotline TODAY at 202-978-5357 to demand that your Senator oppose
any cuts to Medicaid and Medicare. Feel free to use our suggested script:

Hi, my name is _______. I am a constituent from Pennsylvania and a
nurse/other health care worker/patient/Medicaid recipient. I’m calling
today to urge you to oppose any cuts to Medicare or Medicaid. Cuts to
these vital programs would take away people’s health care and lead to
hospital closures, especially in rural areas, hurting entire communities.
This is unacceptable and inhumane. I urge you to vote no on the final
budget reconciliation bill if it includes any cuts to Medicare or
Medicaid.

This is a pivotal moment to keep the pressure on members of Congress to do
the right thing, so we hope you’ll take action with us.

In solidarity,

Nurses’ Campaign to Win Medicare for All
