John, we got some wonderful news today.
The Supreme Court blocked the current administration's efforts to undo DACA, the policy which has protected 800,000 people, who came to the United States as children, from deportation.
DACA recipients -- or DREAMers -- are students, soldiers, doctors, nurses, teachers, paramedics, grocery clerks, engineers. They are our friends and neighbors. They are our community. They are part of the beautiful fabric of our nation.
Most DREAMers have only known America as their home. As someone whose parents came here when I was just three years old, I see myself in so many of them. I cannot imagine being told to "go back" once I was in high school, college, or medical school.
My heart goes out to all who've spent the last three years in legal limbo, unsure if they were welcome here and fearful as their government tried to uproot their lives. Now, we must make sure this can never happen again.
DACA brought so many people out of the shadows, and they deserve to live their lives in the light, proudly and safely. We need to give them a path to permanent citizenship -- no strings attached. That's why I'm calling on Congress today to pass the DREAM Act.
Join me and add your name to urge Congress to act swiftly. DREAMers deserve dignity and a path to citizenship >>

Thank you,

P.S. My opponent David Schweikert had an opportunity to stand with DACA recipients last year, but he voted against a bill that would have protected them from deportation. We deserve better in AZ-06. If you can, please chip in a few dollars to help us defeat him.
