It targets nationals from 12 countries, most of them Black, Brown, and Muslim-majority and imposes partial restrictions on seven more.

The administration claims this ban is about “national security” but the truth is that this is about using fear as a weapon to divide the country, distract the media, and consolidate power through hate.

That’s why we need the NO BAN Act. The bill repeals all of Trump’s previous Muslim bans, prevents future presidents from using the same discriminatory playbook, and finally puts guardrails on executive immigration powers that have been abused for far too long. It bans discrimination in visa and immigration decisions. It demands real evidence, not fear. It restores oversight, transparency, and humanity.

Trump is counting on silence. He’s counting on Democrats to talk tough but do nothing. He’s counting on the rest of us to be too overwhelmed or desensitized to respond. But this community has fought this fight before and we will not stop now.

The NO BAN Act isn’t just about undoing Trump’s latest executive order. It’s about protecting the people who are always first to be targeted, refugees, asylum-seekers, immigrants from Muslim-majority countries, families who live across borders. It’s about standing up and saying that discrimination cannot be the law of the land.

Every time Trump has been allowed to impose racist policies unchallenged, it’s opened the door for something worse. From “Muslim Ban” to family separation to refugee caps so low they were indistinguishable from a shutdown, it always starts with silence. That’s why we have to make our voices louder than ever.

We know where this goes if we don’t act. More cruelty. More chaos. More bans. The NO BAN Act won’t stop him alone, but it’s a key line in the sand. It’s a legal, legislative, and moral stand against his racist agenda.

Our pressure helped push this bill forward in the past. Now we need to finish the job. We need to repeal the bans and codify our values into law. Let’s make it impossible for any Trump and any future president to revive this hate.
