The New York Times:
U.S. Court Agrees to Keep Trump Tariffs Intact as Appeal Gets Underway
“The appeals court’s decision delivered an important but interim victory for the Trump administration.”
The roller coaster of Trump’s reckless trade war continues after a federal appeals court temporarily reinstated his tariffs, leaving businesses and consumers in the lurch.
But, Maria is still at the forefront of this fight. Last week, she joined her fellow Senators in filing an amicus brief in a key court case, challenging the Trump Administration’s abuse of emergency powers to impose reckless tariffs on nearly all of our trading partners.
Maria and her colleagues are urging the court to consider the irreparable harm Trump’s trade war has already done to small businesses everywhere, and to keep the power over tariffs in the hands of Congress, where it belongs.
This fight is far from over. While Maria continues to put public pressure on the administration to end its trade war and protect our economy from further devastation, we need to show that we’re still standing with her.
