John,
In America, the government doesn’t get to grab people off the streets, skip the courtroom, and send them straight to a foreign prison.
But the illegal abductions, detentions, and deportations of people like Andry Hernandez Romero, Heidy Sánchez, Mahmoud Khalil, and Elsy Noemi Berrios prove that the Trump Administration sees itself as above the rule of law.
If a president can ignore the courts and disappear lawful residents, there is no limit to what can come next. President Trump has said he wants to abduct and deport U.S. citizens. If this isn’t stopped now, no one is safe.
On Thursday, June 26th, we’re showing up at federal buildings, courthouses, and town squares across the country to say: in America, we don’t let the government disappear people. That’s not who we are.

It’s okay if you’ve never hosted an event like this before; we can provide all the tips, tools, and training you’ll need.
These visual actions can be a simple yet powerful way for communities across the country to show solidarity with those affected by Trump’s draconian immigration policies, demand accountability, and demonstrate support for due process.

Individuals featured in these photo petition actions include:
* Andry Hernandez Romero – a gay asylum seeker, makeup artist, and survivor of political violence — trusted the U.S. asylum system. The Trump regime rewarded this trust by deporting him to a mega-prison in El Salvador without a trial, hearing, or any semblance of justice. He cried for his mother as guards shaved his head.
* Heidy Sánchez, a nursing student, mother, wife, and survivor, had her baby ripped from her arms and was deported. She has no criminal record. She is now alone in Cuba, while her infant daughter cries for her in Florida.
* Graduate student Mahmoud Khalil was never charged with a crime, but ICE locked him up 1,000 miles from his wife and newborn son. The Trump regime is punishing him for his peaceful advocacy in support of Palestinian rights. His wife gave birth alone and is being forced to raise their son by herself as he languishes in Louisiana.
The path forward is not cruelty. It’s not dismissing these stories as political bait. It’s reminding our elected leaders that fighting for our democracy means fighting for those who disappeared in America.
