There’s been a lot of national attention on Iowa lately.

We got a little extra attention, thanks to Joni Ernst. Senator Ernst’s comment “well we all are going to die,” in response to Medicaid cuts was not a good comment, but it certainly got people to sit up and take notice.

With Ernst and Iowa in the headlines, however, now is the perfect time to remind folks about all of our important races on the ballot next year. This is how we take negative attention and turn it into something positive.⬇️ [[link removed]]

1. Four congressional districts. The DCCC named IA-01, IA-02, and IA-03 “districts in play,” meaning we have a chance to flip these seats blue. IA-04 is now an open seat since Randy Feenstra is running for Governor, making this district more vulnerable for Republicans.

2. Governor’s Race. Under Kim Reynolds, Iowa is 49th in the nation in economic growth, we have an unaccountable voucher program, and a $900 million deficit. Last month, we got a rare “double jump” race ratings change in Democrats favor, proving Iowans are fired up for change.

3. Joni Ernst. Senator Ernst’s recent comments did not earn her any points with Iowans. With a 39% approval rating and a 47% disapproval rating, we are building a coalition now to replace her.

IDP is hosting trainings, having policy briefings, and working with all 99 county parties to make sure we can turn out the 92,000 Democrats that voted in 2018, but not 2022. We are also holding events that focus in on issues important to all Iowans so that we can showcase Democrats' priorities and common sense solutions.

The road ahead will be challenging, but we have momentum on our side. Let’s not forget that Democrats overperformed in all three of our special elections this year by an average of 25 points!

Will you chip in $25 today to help IDP elect Democrats up and down the ballot? We have a lot of work to do this summer, and we can’t do it without you. [[link removed]]
