Superintendent Degenfelder speaks during the Civic Learning Week National Forum

Wyoming on the National Stage

Superintendent Degenfelder continues to bring Wyoming to the conversation on the national stage. She recently attended the Hoover Civic Learning Week National Forum to engage with students, educators, policymakers, and leaders from across the country working to make civic learning a national priority.


Teacher Appreciation Month

The Wyoming Department of Education celebrated Teacher Appreciation Month with social media videos from Superintendent Megan Degenfelder and Wyoming Teacher of the Year Morgan Hahn, a proclamation signing with Governor Gordon, and photos from the 2025 Tour of Excellence and of the Wyoming District Teachers of the year (post 1, post 2, post 3, post, 4).

RISE Awardees Recognized

Gina Gonzalez, a paraprofessional and crosswalk guard for 23 years at Meadowlark Elementary in Buffalo, was named one of the recipients of the Wyoming Recognizing Inspirational School Employees (RISE) Award

Amy Deeds, a school nurse at Pinedale Elementary, was the second recipient of the Wyoming Recognizing Inspirational School Employees (RISE) Award

Teachers Support the Innovator Network

Darian Samuelson, a Science teacher at Upton High School, spoke in support of the Innovator Network during a media event to launch the hub to house professional development created by Wyoming educators to meet the needs of Wyoming educators. 


MTSS Summit Supports Implementation

Educators from across Wyoming gathered for the Wyoming MTSS Summit to learn from prominent researchers and practitioners, discover effective ways of implementing MTSS, and create new professional relationships.

Participants of the Teaching and Learning Cycle PD

PD Improves EL Support

42 educators convened in Gillette for a PD focusing on the Teaching and Learning Cycle. Participants explored the five key stages of the cycle: building the field, exploring language, joint construction, independent construction, and review and revision. The workshop fostered collaboration and the exchange of ideas among EL teachers, coordinators, resource teachers, paraprofessionals, instructional facilitators, content area teachers, and DLI educators from across the state. 


Clark Elementary Breaks Summer Reading Record

Students at Clark Elementary, Uinta County School District #1, broke the state record for the most amount of minutes read per student in the Governor's Summer Reading Challenge with 2059 minutes read per participant.
