But first....
At Prime Minister’s Questions on 21 May, Sir Keir Starmer said living standards were “at an all-time low” under the Conservatives.
We can’t find any evidence to support this, and the Resolution Foundation (an independent think tank) said the Prime Minister “clearly misspoke”.

Improving living standards by the time of the next general election was a key pledge ([link removed]) in the government’s Plan for Change.
We’re waiting on more data before updating our Government Tracker. It’s too early to know how things have changed since the government made this promise in December, but the data we do have shows there’s been no improvement since Labour took office.
Best wishes,
Craig

Junior doctors recently underwent a job title change to Resident doctors.
In May, the government accepted recommendations to give all resident doctors a pay rise of 4% + £750. But the British Medical Association (BMA) says this won’t reverse pay “erosion” since 2008. It is therefore balloting resident doctors about whether to strike.
This explainer looks at what NHS resident doctors earn and what the BMA is asking for, and explores some of the claims currently circulating about their pay.

A video, which is being widely shared on social media with claims it shows migrants on a Dover beach, is misleading.
The video doesn’t show a beach in Dover, but appears to be a popular beach in Goa, India.
