John, we’re officially headed to the general election in Virginia — and the fight just got real.

In a major upset, our endorsed candidate for Attorney General, Jay Jones, defeated a Dominion Energy-backed opponent who accepted an astounding $800,000 from Virginia’s largest corporate polluter. This is a massive win for the climate movement — and a clear sign that voters are done letting Big Oil call the shots.

Now, with every seat in the Virginia House on the ballot this November, our full slate of climate champions is officially headed to the general election. They didn’t face primary challengers, but they’re up against well-funded Republican opponents. That’s why we need to dig deep now, while there’s still time to prepare for everything our opponents throw at us.

Look, the stakes couldn’t be higher:

• Everyone – pundits, politicians, Big Oil – is eyeing Virginia as an early test of how Trump’s agenda is resonating with voters ahead of the midterms.
• Republicans are already pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into attack ads targeting the most competitive districts in Virginia, including one of our endorsed climate champions.
