Dear John,

WE WON!!! This morning, the U.S. Supreme Court reversed the administration's decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

We are thrilled that the Supreme Court made the right decision and has recognized that the home of hundreds of thousands of Dreamers is here. We are also humbled to have represented thousands

of Dreamers since the inception of DACA eight years ago and to have signed on to an amicus brief in support of this decision.

Like so many victories, this one is partial and perhaps temporary. While we celebrate, we also recognize that our journey is not over. The U.S. Senate must pass the Dream and Promise Act, which offers a permanent legislative solution protecting current DACA recipients and other Dreamers. And we need to continue to represent individual DACA recipients as they apply to renew their status and to extend their employment authorization and Dreamers who were unable to apply for DACA before the administration tried to end the program but who may be eligible now.

We realize that you and your communities likely have many questions about what this decision means for them. To that end, [link removed] we have summarized the decision here and [link removed] answered some frequently asked questions here. We will also be hosting Facebook Lives on Friday, June 19 at [link removed] 3 p.m. in English and [link removed] 4 p.m. in Spanish, during which we will be discussing the decision.

Finally, between now and Friday, June 26, community members can call ILCM at 651-641-1011 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. with questions about the DACA decision. ILCM will also be running our normal intake line at the same number on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Thank you for all that you do as we move forward together toward a more unified, more just community and nation.

In solidarity,

Veena Iyer

Executive Director
