Dear John,

Next month, over 30,000 military troops from 19 countries will participate in the largest ever 'Talisman Sabre' war games in the Pacific, including the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Japan, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, and more. These warfighting "exercises" fuel tensions in the Pacific, drawing the U.S. and its allies closer towards a war with China. That's why World BEYOND War is partnering with the Pacific Peace Network to launch the campaign to "Declare Neutrality and Help Prevent a U.S.-China War."

➡️ Add your name to the petition to tell Pacific & Pacific Rim nations to adopt a neutral position in the growing confrontation between the U.S. and China.

Sign the Petition: Call on Pacific & Pacific Rim Nations to Declare Neutrality & Prevent a U.S.-China War!

Amidst growing militarization, Pacific and Pacific Rim countries are under pressure by the U.S. to increase their military budgets to 5% of GDP, to the detriment of addressing urgent social and environmental needs. This would mean nearly doubling South Korea's military expenditure from 2.6% of its GDP to 5%. It would mean a two and a half time increase for Australia, nearly a triple-fold increase for Japan, and a four-fold increase for the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the U.S. continues its build-up of thousands of troops on military bases encircling China and dotting the Pacific, from Okinawa to Guam, Jeju Island to the Philippines to Australia and more, and scattered across Latin America and Canada. These bases provoke tensions with China and draw "host" countries into war. U.S. foreign military bases occupy stolen Indigenous land, leaching toxic chemicals into waterways, allowing impunity for troops, and costing U.S. taxpayers billions of dollars a year.

Add Your Name: Tell Pacific & Pacific Rim Countries to Declare Neutrality!

The United States is preparing for war against China and cannot wage such a war from the west coast of the U.S. alone. It needs military bases, port facilities, airfields, military forces, munitions, and manufacturing facilities from its allies across the Pacific region. Pacific & Pacific Rim countries have the power to withdraw cooperation and help prevent war by declaring neutrality.
