<[link removed]>Friend,
Yesterday, masked ICE officers arrested Brad Lander — the most senior Jewish leader in New York City government — while he was volunteering as a legal observer in immigration court.1
Trump’s use of ICE is a danger to immigrants, Jews, our cities, and our democracy. We need every elected official to show up and fight back.
But last week, when Republicans passed a resolution that was supposed to be about condemning the recent attack in Boulder, they used fighting antisemitism as a smokescreen to stoke fear of immigrants and thank the ICE agents who are terrorizing our communities.
With your help, we’re emailing every member of Congress who saw through the smokescreen and voted no on this anti-democratic resolution to say THANK YOU.
But for the 75 Democrats and 205 Republicans who voted in favor, we’re emailing them to say DO BETTER. Because fighting antisemitism means protecting our freedoms, our democracy, and our immigrant neighbors.

Votes on Rep. Evans’s resolution “Denouncing the antisemitic terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado.”
Last week there was a different resolution denouncing the attack in Boulder that didn’t sneak in any language supporting attacks on immigrants in our name as Jews. It even passed by an overwhelmingly bipartisan 400-0.
But Republicans saw an opening to use the attack in Boulder to push their dangerous immigration agenda — to continue sending masked men with guns into our communities to tear our neighbors away from their workplaces, hospitals, and even children’s graduations.2
As Senator Padilla said after he was thrown to the floor and handcuffed by ICE, "If this is how the Department of Homeland Security responds to a senator with a question, you can only imagine what they’re doing to farmworkers, to cooks, to day laborers throughout the country."
By thanking our representatives when they’re disciplined enough to see through the smokescreen, we give them the courage to fight for real solutions to antisemitism.
And by letting the others know we’re unhappy, we show them the Jewish community will not be used or stepped on to advance Trump’s fascism.
