Destroying The Ayatollahs Will Help The Palestinians

By David Shuster

Days into Israel’s airstrikes against Iran, each bomb dropped on the regime keeps producing cheers from countless Iranian citizens and Arabs who care about Palestinians. That’s right. Palestinians. “This is not just Israel’s battle,” said British-Bahraini journalist and political commentator, Amjad Taha. “It is the world’s reckoning with a regime that sanctified terror.”

You see the Iranian regime–a robed oligarchy of mullahs, martyrs, and malicious mountebanks has never given a damn about the Palestinians. Except as a convenient cudgel to push Palestinians into war with Israel, and as a sanctimonious ornament on the turban of Iran’s own power.

For decades, the Iranian regime has funded and sponsored terror groups and operations against Israel and the United States. Now, if Israel brings the House of Khamenei crashing down, the greatest beneficiaries, second only to the long-suffering Iranian people themselves, will be the Palestinians.

I can already hear the shrieking of my friends on the progressive left. Isn’t Iran the great patron of the Palestinian Resistance? The rocket supplier of Gaza? The paymaster of Hezbollah and the financier of Hamas? Yes. Yes. And Yes.

And what has all of that Iranian largesse gotten Palestinians? Instead of better electricity, water, and infrastructure, Iranian backed terror groups Hamas and Hezbollah stocked up on weapons, built underground tunnels, murdered Palestinian dissenters and destabilized the entire country of Lebanon with horrific results.

They murdered LGBTQ residents, women who spoke out, the non-religious, the *wrong-religious,* backed Bashar al-Assad as he gassed his own people in a full-fledged genocide, and conducted terror attacks, including the Oct. 7 massacre of 1,200 Israelis that began the current war. All for Iran’s jihad to spread an Islamic fundamentalist death cult.

You don’t need an advanced degree in theology or geopolitics to understand that the Iranian regime thrives not in solutions but in festering problems. Iranian leaders rely on Palestinian suffering and encourage Palestinian “martyrdom” to validate their regime and rally the disenfranchised masses of the Muslim world behind the banner of Shi’ite supremacy.

But the moment Palestinians begin to prosper, negotiate, and build something that resembles a state instead of a stage for martyrdom, the they become useless to Iran’s ayatollahs. So, imagine if Israel strikes a decisive blow against the Iranian regime and the mullah mafia in Tehran were eliminated?

First, Hezbollah and Hamas would be orphaned. There would be no more missiles in crates marked “medical equipment.” The professional jihadists who endanger everyone in Gaza would dry up, giving way to the people having a chance at self-determination. Second, regular Palestinians, no longer subject to militant blackmail, or religious revolutionaries, could rediscover the language of diplomacy.

To be clear, I don’t endorse military airstrikes and bloodshed. War is always obscene. I appreciate the argument that Israel could have given more time for diplomacy and provided the U.S.-led negotiations a better chance to stop Iran’s nuclear program. But those debates are now irrelevant. Iran and Israel are at war. One can only hope the conflict does not spread, and that the suffering ends quickly.

Until then, if you care about the welfare of Palestinians, cross your fingers that Israel eliminates Iran’s theocratic regime. Such a change could ripple across the Middle East and lead to a more autonomous, pragmatic, and prosperous Palestinian territory.

It would end The Handmaid’s Tale theocracy lording over the people that sees this as just treatment of women:

In September 2022 Mahsa/Zhina Amini, a young woman from Iran’s oppressed Kurdish minority, visited Tehran with her brother. She was stopped and arrested by Iran’s “morality” police (gasht-e ershad), who routinely arbitrarily detain women who do not comply with the country’s abusive and discriminatory compulsory veiling laws.

Eyewitnesses said that police pushed her into a van and beat her, taking her to Vozara detention centre in Tehran. Mahsa/Zhina Amini and her brother were told that she was being transferred to Vozara for an “educational” class aimed at “reforming” the behaviour of women and girls who violate the country’s rigid Islamic dress code. Her brother was also beaten when he protested.

Hours after her arrest, credible reports arose that the “morality” police had subjected her to torture and other ill-treatment inside the police van, including through beatings to her head. She fell into a coma, and was transferred in an ambulance to Kasra hospital in Tehran.

She died in custody three days later in hospital, on 16 September 2022.

She was just 22.

Palestinians Muslims in Israel proper already have more freedom and liberty than any group of Muslims in the Middle east. They have rights to be religious or not, women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, votes in Israeli elections, representation in Israel’s parliament, and a Justice on the Israeli supreme court.

That’s even with awful Bibi Netanyahu in power, whose replacement with a liberal Israeli government is beyond necessary, but a subject for another column. Peaceful coexistence between Palestinians and Israelis is possible. Such a détente, in Gaza and the West Bank have a better chance if the Iranian regime’s no more.

Trump's Mass Deportation Plan Violates the Constitution. These 7 Constitutional Clauses Say So.

Subscribe Now to Tony Michaels and The Coffman Chronicle »»»»

Donald Trump’s latest statement is more than just a rant — it’s a road map for using federal force to punish political enemies, override state laws, and deploy ICE as a weapon against entire cities. He’s not just targeting immigrants. He’s threatening blue states. He’s trying to rewrite the Constitution in his own image.

Let’s be clear: this is not “law and order.” It’s authoritarianism wrapped in a flag.

Here are 7 specific constitutional arguments that prove Trump’s plan is illegal, un-American, and dangerous. Plus, for each point, I’ve included a short phone script you can use when calling your U.S. Senator or Representative through the Capitol switchboard: 202-224-3121.

Let’s give Congress a civics lesson.

1. Trump Can’t Rewrite Immigration Law — That’s Congress’s Job

(Article I, Section 8)
Only Congress has the power to set immigration policy. Trump has no authority to launch mass deportations without legislative approval.

📞 Phone Script:

“Hi, my name is [Your Name], and I’m calling because Donald Trump is trying to use powers that belong to Congress to launch mass deportations. Article I gives Congress—not the president—the power to make immigration laws. I want my representative to publicly oppose this abuse of power and defend the Constitution.”

2. States Have Rights Too

(10th Amendment)
Trump is targeting blue cities and states in violation of federalism. States have the right to govern themselves and decide local enforcement priorities.

📞 Phone Script:

“Trump is threatening to send federal agents into cities that disagree with him politically. That violates the 10th Amendment and attacks state sovereignty. Please defend states’ rights and stop this federal overreach.”

3. He Can’t Use Troops or Federal Agents Like an Army

(Posse Comitatus Act / Insurrection Act limits)
Deploying federal agents as a political weapon in peaceful cities is unconstitutional unless a state requests assistance or there's an actual rebellion.

📞 Phone Script:

“The president cannot use federal agents or the military to invade American cities. The Posse Comitatus Act exists to stop that. I urge you to investigate any unlawful deployment of federal forces.”

4. Even Undocumented People Have Rights

(5th and 14th Amendments — Due Process)
Immigrants have the right to fair treatment under the law. Trump’s plan would bypass the courts and violate basic civil rights.

📞 Phone Script:

“Due process belongs to everyone on U.S. soil, regardless of status. Mass deportations without hearings violate the Constitution. I’m asking you to speak out and demand legal protections be upheld.”

5. Targeting Cities and Groups Violates Equal Protection

(14th Amendment)
Trump is singling out people based on where they live, how they vote, or who they are. That’s unconstitutional discrimination.

📞 Phone Script:

“Trump’s plan unfairly targets cities and groups he disagrees with. That’s a violation of the Equal Protection Clause. Please defend our communities from discriminatory enforcement.”

6. This Is Political Retaliation, Not Justice

(1st Amendment)
Targeting sanctuary cities, protests, and dissent is a direct attack on the First Amendment and free political expression.

📞 Phone Script:

“The president is using law enforcement to punish cities that oppose him. That’s a First Amendment violation. I want my representative to push back and defend free speech and political freedom.”

7. No President Gets a Blank Check

(Nondelegation Doctrine)
The Constitution doesn’t give Trump unchecked power to declare mandates on behalf of “the American People.” That’s dictatorship, not democracy.

📞 Phone Script:

“We have a separation of powers for a reason. Trump’s sweeping orders violate the nondelegation doctrine. I want my member of Congress to reassert legislative authority and block any unlawful directives.”

Final Note:

Trump wants us to think he has unlimited power. But he doesn’t.
The Constitution wasn’t written for a king — it was written to stop one.

Now it’s your turn to act. Call the Capitol switchboard today: 202-224-3121
Ask to be connected to your Senators and House Representative. Use the scripts above. Forward this article to friends and neighbors. Let them know the fight is here — and the Constitution is worth defending.

✊ No Kings. No Tyrants. Just We the People.
