Poverty in Zambia is severe, worsened by natural disasters, job scarcity and economic instability. Women and girls are especially vulnerable, often leaving school early and facing exploitation, poor health and limited options.

Rhoda was one such woman. Trapped in an abusive marriage and struggling to feed her children, she felt hopeless and alone.

But through AE’s Vocational Skills Training, Rhoda found new strength. She joined a Community Transformation Group, received counselling, learned tailoring skills, and began to rebuild her confidence.

Today, she runs a small business, supports her children, and encourages women facing similar battles.

Rhoda’s story echoes the words of Psalm 113:7: “He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap.”

It is a powerful picture of dignity restored. When you give a generous, tax-deductible gift to AE before 30 June, you can help another woman like Rhoda begin her own journey of change.

A gift of $700 can provide one woman with a full year of training. In Zambia, your support can help 24 women begin that journey.

Together, we’re aiming to raise $400,000 to support seven African Enterprise projects across six countries; each one proclaiming the Gospel, equipping the vulnerable, and bringing hope to women, their families and communities.
