Team — Earlier today, New York City Comptroller Brad Lander was detained at an immigration court in the city.

This is bullshit. And I said as much at Foley Square earlier today.

NYC elected leaders are being detained — and that is out of line. They cuffed Brad and dragged him out of the building.

Brad Lander has been a guide to those in need, and this is what happens to him? What about all the people who don’t have a high-profile elected position? What the hell is happening to this country?

The Trump administration and D.C. Republicans are playing political games with New York and our country. They stoked fear at the House Oversight Committee hearing last week. They handcuffed a United States Senator last week, simply for asking a question at a public press conference. And now they detain a New York City elected official. Enough.

Join me in calling for D.C. Republicans and the Trump administration to get their hands off New York. They are out of line, and we must call them out.

Frankly, I’m sick and tired of the Trump administration trying to rule our state. I will not let this slide.
